Shut up and deliver
"Oh, so we lost, but at least we were giving it our all out there, and that's something to be proud of." No, it's not. If giving it your all isn't good enough for you to win the match, then that alone isn't something to be proud of. Your effort is reflected in your results, and therefore you shouldn't extract it from the equation and treat it as a sole factor. You look at your results and judge by it as a whole. Then you can extract the different factors and figure out where you need to improve, but they have nothing to say, unless the end product delivers.
This applies to every aspect of life. If you do one thing, that alone will not define you as a person. Only the sum of your actions will define you. You can be proud of a single good deed, but it will be a fake pride unless your sum of actions define you as a good person.
If you've tried your best, but still fail to deliver, do not expect a pat on the shoulder for good effort, for you have not deserved it.

Don't you stop
smiling, my friends are smiling, it is summer.
This will probably be one of my best summers yet. Not only because of the vacation I've planned, but because I've finally found some friends to do nothing and what ever with. A walk in the park, an in-the-middle-of-the-day-in-the-middle-of-the-week-beer in the city, a few hours of Super Smash Bros. or some quality barbecuing. Life is sweet to those who are not bitter, and I'm far from it.
I'm also looking forward to starting at my new school, meeting new people, new friends, new experiences. Having one of my better friends go to school in the same building as well as two of my cousins, won't hurt either!
We will probably miss some of those we leave behind, but I'm guessing they'll miss us more, as some of us move on, and some lag behind.
I for one will never stop moving, and if you're anything like me, neither will you.
So lets do just that and enjoy the summer for all it's worth.
